FAQs

Compress deep dive

Everything you need to know about workflows, presets, and export hygiene inside the Compress lab.

How should I set compression quality?

Start around 80% for hero imagery, then slowly drag the slider until you see the first hint of artifacts. The live before/after preview makes it easy to stop before quality dips, and file size readouts update instantly so you know exactly how many kilobytes you reclaimed.

JPEG or WebP-what is better?

JPEG remains the universal choice for ecommerce, newsletters, and legacy browsers. WebP is best when you control the front-end stack and want 25–35% smaller payloads. Swap formats from the dropdown without touching any other fields.

Will transparency survive compression?

Choose WebP when you need alpha channels. JPEG flattens transparency to white, but WebP keeps overlays, stickers, and UI sprites completely intact with dramatically smaller file sizes than PNG.

What about huge PSD exports?

Uploads cap at 25 MB so everything stays realtime. If a master file is larger, do a single downscale or flatten pass in your editor, then run it through Compress to fine-tune the delivery weight.
